Christmas in Cameron

After spending a couple days in The Woodlands, we headed over to Cameron and spent a couple of days with my mom.

My grandma got to snuggle on Zane for a bit.

 Mike and Grandpa talking politics.

Grandma and Zane sharing funny stories.

 Lisa and Zane

Julia really was trying to eat Zane.  But I don't blame her one bit.  Every day I tell Zane he's so cute that I just want to eat him up.

 Love

Christmas in The Woodlands

On Christmas afternoon, we packed up and headed down to The Woodlands.

We ditched Zoe's big cars seat and let her use the small booster so that she could sit right next to Zane.  She loved it until about half way through the trip when Zane decided he had had enough and cried the rest of the way.  :)

Zoe was a big helper while we were on our trip!

Lynn and Serge finally got to meet Zane!  It was love at first site!

Adam and Jen stopped by for a while to play games with us and to love on Zoe and Zane for a bit.

Hot chocolate is only good if it is also all over your face!

 Coloring time!

Jen made Mike and Zane these Player 1 and Player 2 shirts.  Awesomeness.

 Photobombed!

Christmas 2013

This Christmas was kind of a blur.  Between having Zane (and still recovering from the c-section)
and the craziness of Mike switching to a new job, we were in full-on survival mode.  We got the Christmas tree up just in the nick of time.  And we only found mine and Mike's stockings.  So Mike ran to the dollar store and got two matching stockings for Zoe and Zane.  It's a good thing Zoe is so easy to please!  We think/hope that Zoe had a great Christmas and we think/hope she didn't notice that Mike and I just didn't have our minds into it this year.  We tried really hard to make it a great season for her.  We spent the week after Christmas visiting family and that was a really great and much needed break from reality for a while.  Here are a few pictures that I remembered to take:

Zoe mostly made these cookies all by herself with just a little bit of help from me.  She even rolled the dough!

They turned out delicious!  I'm pretty sure they were the best Christmas cookies I have ever had.

This was the day of Zoe's Christmas party at school.  I checked the weather before leaving and it was 60 degrees.  So I dressed myself and Zane accordingly.  By the time I parked near the school it had dropped all the way down to 40 degrees!  That happened in about a 10 minute window.  Crazy!  Well, I had to park about a quarter mile away from the school and when I got there I noticed everybody pouring out of the school.  What?!  Were they having some kind of a Christmas program outside?  But it's so cold!  Nope, one of the 5th grade classes had accidentally set off the smoke alarm and the school was being evacuated.  The poor kids had to stand outside until the fire department gave the all clear.  There were kids in shorts and t-shirts, poor things!  I'm so glad I got there in time to keep my arms wrapped around Zoe while she waited outside (Zane was nice and warm in his stroller).

Zoe making an ornament and enjoying some hot chocolate at her class party.

Zane did NOT have fun at the party.  He woke up from his nap and wanted to eat RIGHT. NOW.

Christmas eve traditional cousins pajama picture!  (Emma was at home sick)

Christmas morning.  Santa came!  Yay!

December Pictures

Here are some very overdue pictures from December.  We are all loving life right now!  Zane is an absolute joy.  He is incredibly cuddly and always wants to be held.  I'm talking ALWAYS.  He's such a sweet doll and we don't mind having him in our arms all the time.  He has rolled over four times and giggles now.  And his very favorite person?  ZOE!  His face lights up every time he sees her.

 Sweet boy!

I was at the ward Christmas party with the two kids.  I looked over near the end of it when everybody was cleaning up and saw Zoe sitting just like this.  Deep in thought with a smile on her face.

Embarrassing story:  One Saturday a few weeks ago, I had put on this shirt of Mike's, my maternity Capri's, and these striped socks to keep me warm.  But who cares, right?  Because I was just wearing them around the house.  But then Mike needed to run over to his Dad's house real quick (he lives less than a mile away) to help him with something.  I wanted to get out of the house so I decided to throw on some shoes and go over like this.  But who cares, right?  Because it's just Mike's dad and Viki that would see me and they love me for who I am, not what I wear.  But THEN we all decided we needed to go out for lunch.  But who cares, right?  Because we would go somewhere quick and I'd probably sit in the car and feed Zane anyways so nobody would see me.  Nope.  We went to Cheddars and it was packed.  And I went inside instead of feeding Zane in the car.  SO EMBARRASSING.  People were definitely staring.

 Late night cuddles.

That tongue of his is in full motion all the time.  And it's SO cute!

Best buddies.

Kirstin and Tyler's cheering section as they ran the New Years Double (I was so jealous and wanted to run it with them!  Well, kind of...it WAS nice to be a spectator this year).
