Zoe just started doing this thing where she scrunches up her nose and sniffs really hard and kind of laughs at the same time. And the look on her face is like she just ate a lemon. She loves it when we do it back to her, she'll laugh so hard.
Zoe said 'mama' on January 30th! I've secretly been working on that with her every day. hehe. Now we're working on 'dada'.
Zoe finally grew out of the co-sleeper! We have a beautiful crib waiting for us in Texas from cousin Emma so in the mean time Zoe will be sleeping in a Pack and Play (very similar to the play pens we all used to hang out in when we were babies). She likes it because there is more room to spread out and move around.
Zoe never did like a pacifier but lately she has found a replacement. There is a little, pink bunny that she sleeps with and she will only fall asleep sucking on one of its ears, hands, or feet. And if she doesn't have the bunny with her (if we're traveling) then she'll stuff the corner of a blanket or the ear of some other poor stuffed animal in her mouth, start sucking, and off to sleep she goes. It's pretty funny.
Zoe has been refusing the bottle a lot lately so we're trying other things. Her favorite way to drink her milk is like us, straight out of a cup. That's okay--only if she needs a milk bath! Her second favorite way to drink is with a straw. So we're trying to help her master that, the only problem is that she doesn't drink very much at a time so it takes a while to get a decent amount of milk.
Zoe's next doctor appointment is in February for her 9 month check-up. The day after that appointment she has her appointment with the Endocrinologist. During that appointment we'll do some blood work (all three of us...), discuss growth hormone therapy, and get better confirmation whether or not Zoe has Russel Silver Syndrome.
