Zoe had her 1 year doctor visit this week:
Weight: 14lbs 6oz (-5%)
Height: 26" (-5%)
Head: 18.5" (+90%)
She's about the size of the average 6 month old. But she's bigger than the average RSS girl. So I think we're doing good!
Zoe had a good visit with the doctor. She received her immunization shots like a pro. She just cried for a minute. I think she was more mad than she was in pain.
Zoe eats SO much these days. It's probably no more than any other 1 year old but to us it seems like a LOT. She eats a good sized breakfast, lunch, and dinner and then snacks all day long. It's great. What's the most fun about it is that she's eating fun snacks like Teddy Grahams, Nilla Wafers, and applesauce. All the stuff that Mike and I can enjoy with her. :) We've also been trying different ways to get extra calories into her. We've tried putting chocolate syrup into her milk, Carnation Instant Breakfast, and PediaSure. She doesn't like any of those. She will down a cup of plain milk but if she sees that there is chocolate in it she won't even touch it. Next we'll move on to the vanilla and strawberry flavors. If she doesn't like those either it's okay. She obviously likes milk better than formula so we'll take what we can get.
It seems like Zoe does something new every day. It's SO much fun to watch. Lately she has been pushing the laundry basket around--walking! We know that it's just a short matter of time before Zoe takes her first independent steps. Also, Mike taught her how to stick out her tongue. Great! She can also copy other facial tricks we throw at her like blinking our eyes and scrunching our noses. But she hasn't figured out how to lift her eyebrows up and down yet.
Zoe still has her 6 teeth. It seems like those all came really quick and we haven't had a new one in a while. But...I think she's teething right now. She has been having all the symptoms: irritability, excessive drooling, extra special diapers, and trouble sleeping. We've been giving her Orajel today and hopefully tomorrow we'll start to see a tooth coming through!
