The partying started early in the week. My mom came up a few days early so she could watch Zoe while I had a root canal done on one of my teeth (thanks Mom!). Here, Zoe and Grandma seem to be having a very interesting conversation.
Adam and Jen came up the night before the party. They brought this chair for Zoe. She is SO cute in it and she LOVES it. She likes to sit in it and read her books. It's so cute.
Hanging out at the fireplace.
Grandma is reading Zoe one last book before bed time.
It's the big day. Let's party, y'all!
Jen and Zoe hangin' before the festivities begin.
Family picture in Phil and Viki's beautiful backyard .
We had a Zoe the Zebra themed party. Everything was zebra print or pink (we even had a dress code of black, white, or pink).
Even the cake was zebra print.
Zoe is munching on some strawberries and hamburger. Yum. Notice the tiara that Adam found for Zoe. She wore it the whole time she ate. It was awesome.
Zoe just told Nana something really funny.
Time for Zoe to eat her first cake!
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you....make a wish!
Whaaaa...why is everybody looking at me and clapping...you want me to do what with that black and white thing?! Zoe wouldn't have anything to do with the cake.
Once we gave up trying to get Zoe to eat her cake we moved on to presents!
The princess is in her throne.
Zoe held, looked at, played with, and inspected every single card and present that I handed to her. She took her time with each one. It was priceless.
Hey, that looks pretty fun!
Playing with her new toys.
This is a quick video Adam captured of Zoe playing.
We love you, Zoe!
The party favors were Little Debbie Zebra Cakes. hehe.
Thanks to Phil and Viki for letting us party at your house!
Thanks to Adam for taking all the pictures!
Thanks to Zoe for giving us a reason to party!
Zoe, we loved looking at all of your birthday pictures. We are wondering just one thing. Why didn't you want to dive into the cake? If it was us, we would have put our faces in the cake and eaten as much as we could. Maybe we would have even had a cake fight...
ReplyDeleteP.S. Do you think that you could come visit us at our school sometime?
Your Friends,
Ms. McMurtrey's First Grade Class
Ms. McMurtrey's Class, I did want to eat the cake all up when my mom was making it. But at the party I didn't understand that I was supposed to eat it. Even though my mom showed me what to do it was still confusing. My mom and dad were happy that I didn't eat it all up because then they got to eat it. They REALLY, REALLY like cake. And guess what, they did have a cake fight at their wedding!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll be able to come for a visit before school gets out because I live kind of far away in Texas now. But I'll make sure my mom keeps posting pictures so you can see me grow.
Love,
Zoe
Lisa, would you send a picture of the children in your class? Maybe have someone else take a picture of you with the children in your room?
