Dadfest 5K Run

Two Saturdays ago (I know, I'm way behind in my blog posts!) on June 21st Lisa and I ran in the Dadfest 5K race. It was pretty neat because the race began and ended in the Texas Stadium (where the Dallas Cowboys play). The race was a little tougher than Lisa and I expected for 2 reasons: the entire 1st half of the race was uphill (Lisa trains on hills so that didn't bother her, but I had a REALLY hard time with is), it was SO hot outside. But we still did pretty good:

Lisa came in #312 out of 801 people at a time of 28 minutes 1 second (#8 out of 37 people in our age group (females 25-29).
I came in #503 out of 801 people at a time of 34 minutes 1 second (#21 out of 37 people in our age group).

Here is a link to pictures of Lisa and me during the race.
We are numbers 226 and 227.

Our view as we walked down the steps to get onto the field.

Mike and Zoe cheering on the cowboys as they run onto the field! Oh wait, where are the Cowboys?!

Zoe had fun playing on the field.

The runners are beginning to gather at the start line.

Our little star.

Waiting for the race to start.

Mike (and a runner...I looked her up after the race, she came in 70th place!)

The winner!

Sharing stories about the run.

Happy that the race is over. Let's go home!

This is on the way home. Zoe was falling asleep while eating crackers.
