Visit to Houston

Last weekend Mike, Zoe, and I went down to Houston. My dad and his wife, Janie, were in town. We hadn't seen them in over a year so it was great to be able to catch up and for Zoe to see them in person instead of just in pictures. On Saturday morning my dad and I went out for a 7 mile run. It was a lot of fun. It rained and even hailed for a while, so we spent a little bit of time taking cover under some trees. About 6 miles into the run we started to notice things were not looking familiar and we didn't seem to be getting close to where our run was supposed to finish. So we called Mike who looked at a map for us and told us that we were way off course. In fact, we were a couple of miles in the wrong direction. What?! We had taken a wrong turn going West instead of East. So in the end, our easy 7 mile run turned into an 11 mile run! Ahhh! We still had a good time and thank goodness for having extra water and food in the car for when we finally finished!

Later that night we headed out to Minute Maid Stadium to see the Astros play. It was Zoe's first Astros game and they didn't disappoint. The Astros beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-0. Here are some pictures and videos from the game:

I'm pretty sure my dad was explaining the game of baseball to Zoe here. She totally got it.

Hangin' at the game. In this video are also Marie, Joel, and Abner (Marie's husband and son).

Pictured here are Jen (Adam's wife), Adam, John, and AJ (they are three of my brothers).

"Hey Mom! I can see the field better if I'm up-side-down! You should try it!"

Sunday after church we met at Lynn (Mike's mom) and Serge's house for a scrumptious lunch. Here are some pictures and videos of my dad and Zoe on the piano before lunch:
