It Snowed!

Mike is in North Carolina for a couple of days so I had plans yesterday to take Zoe to my mom's house for a visit. But there was rain in the forecast all day so I told my mom I'd leave this morning when the rain was gone. I woke up early this morning while it was still dark outside, went and put a blanket on Zoe, laid back in bed and fell asleep listening to the rain on the roof. A while later I woke back up and I didn't hear the rain. "Okay", I thought. "I'll get up and start getting things ready to leave for Mom's." So I turned on the TV to check the weather channel to make sure the rain was done. My eyes were blurry from just waking up but I thought it said it was 33* on the bottom of the screen. Wow, that's cold. Then the local weather came on and it said "Snow: 33*". Snow! What?!?! I jumped up and looked out the window. Yep. It was snowing outside! In Mckinney, TX! Yay! I ran into Zoe's room. She looked at me with sleepy, just recently woke up eyes. I said, "Zoe! It's snowing outside!". She gasped, gave me a huge smile, and sat up. She had no clue what I was talking about but I was excited so she was too. I quickly got her dressed in warm clothes and we went outside to check out the snow. She LOVED it!

She's so excited!

I couldn't decide between the two pictures so you get both.

Snow!

  2. Those might be the cutest Zoe pictures I've seen. And the house looks very Christmasy with snow. Fun!!! Maybe you could send some snow this way...

  3. When Joe noticed the snow this morning I accused him of hoping for a snow day and told him there was no way that was happening. The snow melted off before his recess time. Poor guy!

Can we warm up to the 70's now?

  5. That's amazing that it snowed in Texas before it snowed in Michigan. I'm not complaining though! It's always a long winter here, so the longer we can postpone the start, the better. :) I'm glad you guys really enjoyed it though!

  7. Melanie, I remember when we moved from Chicago to TX the end of Feb,1991, we'd left a snowstorm in IL and didn't expect to find snow in Richardson, TX where we stayed our last night. However, snow it did. However by the time we got to TW it was warmer and we sat by our pool in shirtsleeves and amazement. A few years ago in Auburn, CA, it snowed at my parents and my sister and I jumped into the car at 7:30AM to drive the 20 miles east to see it. Exciting times when you live in snowless country. However, I suspect Britt and Jord won't be driving anywhere in a big hurry to see snow in MN. Hope they're able to dig themselves out this winter. I'll be thinking of ya'll w/ my virgin pina colada on the beach.
