We have been doing a LOT of reading this summer. I haven't really been trying to 'teach' Zoe to read (I don't do site words and stuff like that)...I just really read to her a lot and also give her a lot of opportunities to read to me. A lot of times it's her repeating words after me or me moving my finger under the words as I read so that she sees the word as she hears it. And she's really picking up on it all. I'm so proud of her!
Zoe was sitting at the table having a few weeks ago and I walked into the room and discovered the cookies were untouched and she was reading her books. So cute.
I thought I was done recording but she insisted that I keep recording her reading. :)
That is SO cute! You can see her brain working and working. As a teacher, it makes you so proud to see a kid interested in reading like that. I can't imagine how proud it makes the parents! Zoe's teachers will be lucky to have her!
ReplyDeleteZoe, you are such a good reader! I love you, squirt.
ReplyDeleteThat's so great! It's so exciting to watch them learn to read and figure it all out. It is the essence of success in life.
ReplyDeleteIf you have any good book recommendations for Wes, let me know! I find it's hard to find *interesting* easy readers.
Yay Zoe! I think that is a great way to learn to read, no stress or pressure, just lots of good times leading to a great skill! That's cool.
