On New Years Eve Scott, my friend Kirstin, Kirstin's husband Tyler, and I all ran a marathon. We went home, went to bed, got up the next morning and ran another marathon. It was SO HARD.
First of all I would like you all to know how awesome Scott is. He WON the New Years Eve Marathon. When I say won, I mean he was the first person to finish. He beat everybody else. We were all eating his dust. He's crazy fast.
I didn't do so hot on that first day. I had a pulled groin muscle so it hurt to run. My finish time was 4:41:55. I was happy though because I wasn't even sure I'd be able to finish at all. Also, it was was raining the whole entire race and the temps were in the 30's.
And then the day of the second marathon came. I was SO SORE. It was hard to get out of bed. It was hard to get dressed. And it was hard to walk to the car. haha! What in the world was I thinking doing two marathons in a row? Lucky for me, Scott ran the whole second marathon with me. This is a really good thing because I was in so much pain that I really seriously almost quit during the first mile. But Scott convinced me that my legs would loosen up. They eventually did a little bit. I was still really really slow but we kept pushing mile after mile and eventually we made it to the finish line. My finish time was 5:22:22. That's still faster than my very first marathon though!
Uncle Travis and Sophie came to cheer us on (Lisa was there too, just not in the picture).
Zoe and Mike!
It was really cold!
This is the second marathon. Scott and I were coming in to the half way point.
I was trying to get a cup of water from a volunteer.
Hello? Can I get some water please? Scott: Hey what's going on? I won yesterday. I'm awesome.
This is us doing what's called a runshufflewalk. Actually just me. Scott was doing more of what's called a run.
When we got home Zoe helped push me up the stairs. It took a while for me to get up there but I made it!
