Zoe's 6th Birthday

Can any of you believe that Zoe is 6 now?!  Mike and I most definitely cannot believe it.  She is almost finished with kindergarten too!  Well, we had a super fun-packed birthday weekend for her.  On Friday (her birthday), she requested anything dinosaur related for breakfast.  So I got her Fruity Pebbles and Dino Bites cereals.  Then I went and ate lunch with her at school with her requested grilled cheese sandwich from Sonic.  And then for dinner she wanted her very very favorite food:  WINGS!  Mike and I love that she loves wings so much because we love them too.  She likes them bone-in which is an added bonus and she will eat a LOT of them.

My mom, Lisa, Travis, Sophie, Lynn, and Blake all drove in for the weekend celebrations.  It was such a wonderful weekend!

On Friday night, after my mom, Lisa, Travis, and Sophie arrived, Zoe got to open her family gifts.  Here she is sporting a new watch from Grandpa Alan and Janie.  She's also wearing one of the dinosaur hats that all the kids wore during her birthday party the next day.

Zoe had a dinosaur birthday party complete with a dinosaur cake (it was red on the inside so that when we cut into it, it was like seeing the dinosaur blood....Zoe's idea) and digging for dinosaur bones.  I let her invite a few friend and then we had mostly family there.  It was so much fun.  Here are the kids getting ready to dig for dinosaur bones.

The kids are getting instructions from Mike.

And....go! (it was a race to see who could find all the dinosaur pieces first)

We were SO SO SO happy to have both Mike's mom and my mom here that weekend because it was also Mother's Day that Sunday!  So we were so happy to spend some time with them.  Yay!

  1. How fun! Good idea about the red inside the cake for blood, but I think it would kind of freak me out. :)
