I had my 24 week doctor appointment today. And everything is still looking good. Whoo-hoo! The baby's heartbeat sounded normal and the baby is measuring right on track. Whew. It's always SUCH a relief to leave the doctor's office being told that everything is going well.
I'm already starting to go in every two weeks, starting with the next appointment. This seems really soon to me but when I asked the doctor about it she just said, "Yep, we're there already". (it was at the end of the appointment, as I was heading to checkout so I didn't take the time to get a true explanation) With Zoe, I was scheduled for my 30 week appointment and then I was supposed to start going every two weeks. But that 30 week appointment was when we noticed how small Zoe was. So I started going in once or twice a week for the remainder of the pregnancy (plus the 2 week hospital stay...remember that?! Partay in the hospital!). Mike thinks that the doctor is being cautious because of my history but I just don't know. I'll ask her about it at my next appointment. To be honest, I'm glad to go in so often. I'm so concerned that the baby will stop growing or that something will go wrong that I'm really quite happy to be at the doctor's office as much as possible. I know that's strange to some people. But it's how I'm comfortable with the pregnancy after all the scares we had last time around.
I really like my doctor. She's young, down to earth, and is a runner. She gets me. And I feel comfortable asking her anything.
For the record, the only discomforts I'm having right now are that I have begun to get varicose veins on my left leg. They don't bother me except that they are just ugly. But really, Mike is the only person who will see them and he thinks I'm beautiful and sexy no matter what (at least I told him that he should think that...). Also, by the end of the day my legs are extremely restless and a little achy. It's the same exact feeling after I finish a super long run. The only relief is to stretch or go for a walk. So I walk around the house a lot late at night.
Zoe is going to be the best big sister. And the baby kicks a lot which makes me really happy. And Mike is awesome.

Hugs for the baby! |
24 weeks. I have no excuse or explanation for the pose. By the way, notice the beautiful roses in the background? Anniversary present from Mike. 12 years! Oh yeah! |
Here I am at 24 week with Zoe. My stomach is definitely smaller, right?! So this means that my baby boy is growing big and strong, right?! |
Yes! Your baby boy is growing big and strong! I wish I could ease your worries. Heavenly Father can.
ReplyDeleteCute pictures! I love your outfits! Sorry about the varicose veins. That's a bummer, but at least no one can see them. And hopefully they'll go away after the baby's born, right? And happy anniversary!!! I can't believe 12 YEARS!
