Walk, Wag, and Run!

On Saturday I ran my first 10K race! I've been training for it for a few months so I was really excited when the day finally came. I ran it with my sister-in-law Rachel. We both did really good--we finished! haha. Rachel came in at 1:01:12 and I strolled in behind her at 1:05:53. I was really proud of both of us. My body ached the entire time and I wanted to quit at least once every mile but I somehow talked myself through it and am SO happy that I made it.

Here are the official race results.

This is a video of the start of the race. You can see me in a green shirt and orange shorts. Rachel is right behind me in a blue shirt and shorts.

This is right before the race started. I'm in a green shirt, orange shorts, and sunglasses.

Right after I finished. I'm chowing down on a banana. Zoe was SO tired and ready to go home. But we dragged her to IHOP where I got a big glass of chocolate milk and an omelet. Yum!

What's next you might ask? I think I'll do this (the Half Marathon).

  2. Wow! I am so impressed with you! So are you working up to the Chicago marathon? I don't know how you don't get bored for running so long at a time. Seriously, good for you.

  3. You go girl! Awesome work! I'm totally impressed with you sister. I plan on running a 5 miler Thanksgiving morning in The Woodlands and I'm not even ready. Now I'm sick and having to sit in tonight. YIKES! It will be the longest I have ever gone. Did you follow a program to get to your 10K? We so still need to get one on the calendar, but I don't think I'm quite ready for a half yet. :)
