Zoe is 18 months today. Do you know what that means?! HELLO NURSERY! She'll start going on Sunday and we're pretty excited about it. :)
Zoe is doing great, here are some random updates:

She walks and runs beautifully now. It's really funny when we are out in public and she's walking and running because it throws strangers for a loop. I get comments all the time about my genius daughter who is walking so well. Haha! Then when I explain how old she is and that she's just really tiny I usually get a "Oooooooh" in response.
Zoe is definitely entering the 'terrible twos'. The poor thing gets so frustrated sometimes but we're working through it. She's getting better at expressing herself and Mike and I are getting better at figuring out what she wants.
Speaking of expressing herself...here are some of the words she uses: Daddy, Mom, hi, bye-bye, banana, wa-wa (water), ball, no, uh-oh, la-la (hola).
Zoe can point to her nose, eyes, mouth, tongue, ears, head, toes, and belly/bellybutton when asked.
We can say the alphabet together. Except it sounds something like this:
Melanie: "A"
Zoe: "De"
Melanie: "B"
Zoe: "De"
Melanie: "C"
Zoe: "De"
Melanie: "D"
Zoe: "De" (that one is pretty close!)
Melanie: "E"
Zoe: "De"
and on and on. It's SO funny! She'll say it with me every time but it always sounds like that. She loves doing it though. If she's getting a little fussy in the car I'll just start singing the alphabet and she'll stop fussing and repeat it with me.
Zoe's absolute favorite thing to do is read her books. I swear we read at least 50 books a day.
Zoe loves Mike so much. Cheesy, I know. But seriously, she starts talking about Daddy the minute I get her out of her crib in the mornings and talks about Daddy all throughout the day. And you should see how excited she is when he comes home from work. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he plays with her, throws her up in the air, and tickles her!
Look who's hair is long enough for a ponytail!

ReplyDeleteAwww....but, just to be clear, Zoe has plenty of "not the mommy" moments where she casts me aside like a dirty sock in search of Mommy Dearest.
ReplyDeleteThat side view of the ponytail kind of looks like Megan when she was little. Don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Zoe's a little person now. Remember when we were all wondering what she was going to be like?
Can she say "Lisa" yet? hehe...
What's so comfortable/triumphant about the dishwasher door? My boys love that spot too.
ReplyDeleteAwww, yay! Happy 18 months! AND HOORAY FOR NURSERY!! congrats! ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh...we're so close to the ponytail phase--I can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah for nursery!!! Try and enjoy Sunday school--I haven't been regularly in 8 years, 2 weeks and counting for me (and struggling)!!
I loved when my daughters hit 18 months. It is such a big milestone. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYay for Nursery! It'll be weird for you guys to sit together again in Sunday School without worrying about a little kid. Enjoy the moments! :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, Wes does the same thing with Brian - talking about him all day and getting SUPER excited when he comes home. I think it's because he's way more fun than me too! It's all good. Eventually kids realize that they're moms really are the best.
