Lisa's Trip to Dallas - Part 2

While Lisa was here the two of us went out for a run on a hike/bike trail (Arbor Hills) in Plano. The trail is a 2.2 mile loop and we went around it 3 times. We had a good time dodging roots, rocks, bikers, other runners, and a possum. We both had a few near falls when we tripped on a rock or a root but one time in particular we were trying to dodge off the trail when a biker was coming towards us and we slipped on the rocks. Lisa was able to catch herself but I went all the way down. I'm lucky that I didn't get hurt at all but the whole thing was so funny that it took us a few minutes to regain our composure and run without laughing. Good times.

Before we started.

During our first time around the loop I spotted this possum (it's in the middle, bottom of the picture). I told Lisa to scoot in so that she could be in the picture. She kindly obliged. Then right after I took the picture I mentioned the possum again and she said something like, "A possum?! Where? I think those things can run fast! Go!". And she took off running. She didn't realize she was getting her picture taken with a possum.

Here's the possum, a little closer. Lisa had already taken off but I stayed long enough to get another picture.

This was at the trail head. I think it was after the second time around the loop. I ran into the woods a little and told Lisa to take a picture of me running.

Lisa did the same thing so I could take her picture. The way these trails work is that the bikers go through the trail clockwise and those on foot go counter clockwise so in these pictures we're facing the way the bikers ride. Well, Lisa ran into the woods a little bit for the picture then all of a sudden she spun around, started sprinting back towards me, and yelled, "Biiiiike!".

This was about 5.5 miles into the run. You get a small glimpse of the trail we were on.

These three picture were after the run. This was near the trail, over by some pavilions and a park.

  3. this could be a meeting place for us. maybe it would be around halfway? you need to help me get consistent with this running thing again! but then again it is hard to be consistent with things when our lives are so inconsistent and continue to be unpredictable (read our update)
