We Found a House!

Here it is!!!

We have been REALLY busy ever since I made the previous blog post. After making the decision to buy a house we quickly interviewed some Buyer Agents, picked the one we liked the best, then hit the ground running. We have to be out of our current townhouse by the end of October so we wanted to quickly find a house so that time wouldn't be a worry with any hiccups through the process. Our agent understood this and has been really wonderful helping us find a place quickly.

Because Mike gets to work from home in his new position, we weren't restricted in where we needed to look for a house. So every day I would make a list of about 20 houses, put Zoe in the car, and spend hours driving around the neighborhoods of the houses trying to decide where we wanted to be. After narrowing those houses down to smaller lists my agent would take me and Zoe to go walk through about 6 houses two or three times a week. It was craziness! I have seen so many houses. Zoe loved every minute of it. She watched Finding Nemo and Ice Age in the car about 5 times each; saw lots of dogs, cats, and fish; and climbed more stairs than she can think of counting.

I have now seen almost every neighborhood from Dallas up to Little Elm and we finally decided on what is, in our opinion, the most beautiful neighborhood around. It's in McKinney near Highway 75 and Eldorado and the streets are lined with trees, it's hilly, and there are lots of jogging paths, nature trails, and parks. We love it. And the house we found is great. I'll definitely get some more pictures posted once we actually own the house.

We made an offer at the end of last week, the sellers countered the offer, we countered back, and the sellers accepted. Yay! That was kind of fun.

We are having inspections this Thursday and we will close on the house October 21st.
