My running partner. I usually feel like this too after we run.
I think last week was a great training week! I'm am on a complete runner's high right now after the Half and I can't wait for Austin and Cowtown!!! Here's how last week went down:
Weekly Goals:
Monday: 3 miles at 11:48/mi
Wednesday: 8 miles with 4x1600 at 9:37/mi
Thursday: 2 miles at 11:48/mi
Saturday: 20 miles at 11:48/mi or Half Marathon race
Outcome:
Monday: 3 miles at 11:10/mi. **The winds were high (around 20 mph). I ran with Zoe in the jogger. Remember in last week's post when I mentioned a particular hill that I was pushing Zoe up and my friend, Sheri, was pulling the stroller at the same time? Well, during this Monday run I made it up the hill with Zoe all by myself without stopping or walking! I sang "Don't Stop Believing" in my head the whole way up the hill and kept telling myself "slow and steady"--it worked!
Wednesday: 8.5 miles with 4x1600 at 9:14 mi, 9:15 mi, 9:13 mi, 9:21 mi. **Sheri ran with me. I pushed Zoe in the jogger for the first two sprints and Sheri pushed it for the second two. This run really motivated me for the Half on Saturday.
Saturday: 13.1 miles at 10:50 mi. **See previous post for comments on this run. :)
So so so awesome, Melanie!!! So funny that you sing that. When I hear "Let's get it started" or "Pump it" by Black Eyed Peas, it gets me pushing harder. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's been too long since I've read the blog! Y'all have been busy...especially you! Running sounds like it is going awesome and that's the best. Zoe looks so precious with that brownie batter and piano. Hope everything goes ok with the shots (I seem to remember you telling us it was this week???) Looking forward to seeing y'all in a few weeks!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you're pushing a jogger even on sprints! You are SO much tougher than I am! Love that you were singing to yourself up that hill. Music totally pumps me up!
