We Have Medicine and We Chose a Name!

Before I get to the name we chose I want to share with you all the suggestions we received. You are all so creative! And it's amazing how similar some of the suggestions were from different people.

-It's a wand that makes Zoe magically grow and only special princesses get to use it.
-Sprouting Stick
-Muscle Maker or Muscle Juice
-The Boost
-The Bigger-Maker
-Height Helper
-Peter Pen and Zoe can be Tinkerbell. And get a magic wand for Zoe to hold while Peter Pen sprinkles his pixie dust. (okay so it should be the other way around...but it kind of works)
-wOWwie
-Cookie (give her a cookie right after each one -- she'll either love the shot or hate cookies)
-Disobedience (if calling it "cookie" makes her hate cookies)
-Pokie
-Mr. Tickles...
-WNBA
-Puff the Magic Dragon
-He who brings balance to the force
-Tickle Toy
-Magic Wand
-Pixie Juice
-Miss Tickle
-The Magic Bean
-Inchy
-Miss Inchy
-Eleanor Extra Inch
-NABAAL (not as bad as a lobotomy)

After much discussion and sleeping on it for a night we finally decided to go with Princess Wand. Zoe really likes it and was calling it "Princess" all day: "Where's my princess?" "Princess, come here"

When the medicine came yesterday Zoe was SO excited. I told her the boxes were presents just for her. Then when I opened them and pulled out the pen cover I explained, "Look! They sent you a Princess Wand!". She shrieked with excitement and didn't stop playing with it for the rest of the day. I even showed her what it does. I put it on her leg then counted to 6...she thought it was funny. I did it again and again on her stomach, arm, and butt. We'll see if she still thinks it's funny when we officially start it.

Speaking of starting the medicine. We have our appointment on Friday at 3:00pm to get trained on the stuff and administer the first injection.

Back to the pen...the cover has a picture of fish on it which is perfect because Zoe thinks fish are so cool (remember, Santa brought her fish for Christmas). When Mike finished with work last night and finally came downstairs to see all the stuff he suggested we call it a Fish Stick. What a great idea! So we might switch over to that name. We'll see which name Zoe prefers.

Thanks everybody for sending me you suggestions! I have the most creative family and friends!

Zoe was so excited that these boxes came just for her.

This was inside the white box. This is foam with ice packs inside keeping the medicine cold.

What it looks like on the inside.

This is all the extra stuff...inside the brown box.

All the loot we got yesterday: back pack (which is the same size as Zoe--ha!), a blue and black travel kit with ice packs and a place for the medicine, two sharps containers, lots of needles (like 120 of them), alcohol wipes, a blue case to keep the pens in, a blue pen cover, the medicine pens, and a calendar with stickers that say left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg, etc. (these actually didn't come with the kit...my neighbor, Ruth, down the street who's son is on GH brought them over for us because they don't use it anymore (he's 12--been on GH since he was 9 months old)).

The orange pen has the medicine in it. That stays in the refrigerator. The blue thing is a cover for the pen so we don't have to see the needle and it also allows us to just push a button so the needle gets inserted automatically, we don't have to push it into Zoe's skin. See the fish on the blue cover? Zoe thinks that it SO cool. We can change that out for a picture of whatever we want. But I think we'll keep the fish for now.

On a side note. We have been very frank with Zoe about what is happening. She knows that what came for her yesterday is medicine for her to help her grow and she hears Mike and I talking about it all the time. We think that if we're very up front about it, make it not be too big of a deal, but make it fun and exciting then it'll all work out and be smooth sailing. Well, we think she'll fight us when we have to hold her down to keep the needle injected for 6 seconds but besides that we think it'll be okay. We hope.

  1. Wow! Those boxes are huge! That's even harder than I thought if you have to hold it for 6 seconds. It sounds like she's well-prepared though. Good luck today! PS: Great name/s.

  2. This is all so interesting!! And yes, those boxes are HUGE!!! "Fish stick" is cute but what if Zoe never touches an actual fish stick again because she realizes what it does?!

Good luck today! I will be awaiting an update!
PS. Madyson and Zayn have something to give to Zoe tomorrow. Hugs.
