I Have to Make Ice!

We are deep in the process of "potty training" Zoe and she's actually doing a great job. She very seldom has accidents. Of course this means a lot more "bathroom talk" in our house. I feel like one of the nurses I had when I gave birth to Zoe. All they ever wanted to know about was my bathroom regime and every time nature called. It seems over 80% of my conversations with Zoe is about her potty activity. Mike keeps saying our house has more bathroom talk than an Adam Sandler movie.

Well something that Zoe says that just floors Mike is the way she announces that she has to go "number 2".

Zoe will say "I have to make Ice". If you hear the sound of our ice machine plopping ice into the ice container.....well, it makes sense, but it's still odd to have a conversation..

When she's in the bathroom and you ask if she's done, she'll often reply, "No, I still have more ice". Or when not in the bathroom she'll just randomly announce, "I don't have to make ice"..... good to know.

I figured out what Zoe meant by "making ice" before Mike. He found out when putting Zoe to bed one night and coming out of the room with a puzzled look on his face.."She keeps saying something about wanting a cup of ice or something??" Of course, when I clued him in he laughed all night. I won't go into how much fun he's having using "ice" as a reference for a whole new realm to him of potty humor.

So, be careful if you're ever over to our house and ask Zoe for a drink with ice....

  4. Wes says things like "My poops are coming out" which I'm sure sounds weird to other people. Everyone goes through it at one time or another though!

  6. Absolutely too funny. It is really good code for when you are out in public. It sounds so much nicer than a toddler announcing she has to poop at church or at the mall.
