We were down in The Woodlands the week that Toy Story 3 opened, so we decided to go and see it with Nana Lynn, Aunt Jen, Madison, and Ethan. Mike and I really thought that Zoe would sit and watch the whole movie, or at least most it...but alas, she only watched the opening credits. And then she was done. I stood with her down in the little hallway inside the theater, but where people couldn't see us. Zoe ran back and forth over a hundred times (literally!) while I stood there and watched the movie. Where does she get all that energy?! We all still had a great time!
While waiting for the movie to start, we sat at the theater's "eatery" and Zoe and Ethan got in the Toy Story spirit playing with Woody and Buzz (or as Zoe commonly refers to him "Superman")
Zoe wanted to bring Buzz (aka Superman) and Woody to the movie and even sat down with them during the credits in her lap. But the "Kodak" moment was quickly lost as she jumped out of her seat and dropped them on the floor, ready to explore--before the first dialog was spoken. (It made the scenes about toys being disregarded even more poignant)
We brought in the wireless noise cancellation headphones from our car thinking they would help dampen the really loud moments... Zoe usually likes wearing them when we go on long road trips (because it means she gets to watch Finding Nemo!); but since she was more interested in exploring the movie theater than watching the movie, she tossed those off too.
Oh well, maybe in a year or two we'll actually be able to sit through a family movie with Zoe... (I think we'll shoot for Cars 2 in June 2011).
What a bummer for you! Thanks for the tip on Cars 2...I had no idea. Wes (and Sydney) will be SO excited! That's a favorite around here.
