We got our insurance approval right before Thanksgiving so we asked Dry Force, the company who fixed the house, to hold off until after the holidays were over. They were totally fine with it and we got started on the floors the second week of January. It was a much bigger project than Mike and I ever could have expected but we're very glad to know that our house is dry and everything is fixed.
Here are lots of pictures from the two weeks that it took to finish everything:
Zoe checking out the upstairs after some of the old wood was removed.
Zoe's closet.
The media room with the stage lifted up. Those are rolls of the padding on the floor to the left.
Boxes and boxes of wood.
Starting to lay down the new wood. I love it! I was so excited!
Zoe's room with no wood on the floors.
There was a lot of action going on upstairs so Zoe and I hung out downstairs all day. Mike went and worked at his dad's house for two weeks.
We got Zoe's tent out and played lots of games, puzzles, and read LOTS of books.
Zoe is really into dressing herself and doing her own hair these days (well, I do her hair then she gets to accessorize).
More of the new wood!
The media room became a storage room for the workers.
Getting started in mine and Mike's room.
Mine and Mike's bathroom was the storage area for all of our extras.
And then more workers came to start on the downstairs. This is looking from the kitchen into the living room.

Zoe and I were quarantined to my bedroom for about three days. All day. We got a little stir crazy.
We finally got to go back downstairs again!
The ceiling is fixed. Yay!
Zoe was a trooper throughout the whole process.
New floors!
Another angle of the new floors.
And another angle of the new floors.
When it's kind of dark outside.
And when it's bright outside.
The floor is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI really think those are the first pictures I've seen of the new floor. I really like it! I'm glad that's over and y'all have moved on. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, hooray for new floors and water heating! Seriously, having a broken water heater making a mess must have been very frustrating. Looks like things went smoothly, judging from the pictures you took. You can now enjoy the water heater again.., and dry floors as well. So I guess that's great!
