"Right now I don't like you having a baby in your tummy because sometimes it makes you not do things." (Zoe was in the bathroom, the light turned off and she asked me to go turn the light on for her. I told her that she could just go to the bathroom in the dark for a little bit. I told her the baby was making me tired and I was having a rest.)
It is a very rare occasion that Zoe will get out of her bed to come find me for anything (though she is beginning to do it more often now that she's getting older). When I was 9 weeks pregnant I went to check on her one Saturday morning. She was awake in her bed looking like she was in pain because she had to go to the bathroom so bad (but of course she was just sitting there waiting for me or Mike to 'release' her from her bed (this is NOT a rule that we have but just something that she has stuck in her mind)). As soon as she saw me she said, "I thought that you forgot about me and were just waiting for the baby". That broke my heart.

Zoe, no one will EVER forget about you. Mom will always love you!
ReplyDeleteOh so sad. :( I'm sure once the baby comes she'll become a little more independent with stuff like that (even if she doesn't want to). :) She is so cute.
ReplyDeleteOh no. Never.
