First Day of Summer Break = Trip to the Dentist

Zoe spent her first day of summer vacation at the dentist getting a LOT of work done.  She got three crowns and two fillings.  And this wasn't even everything that needed to be done.  This was just the big stuff.  The IT HAS TO BE DONE NOW stuff.  Sigh....  Back before Zoe started taking growth hormones, and she actually got somewhat of an appetite, the one and only time during the day that we could get Zoe to drink an entire cup of milk was as she was laying in bed going to sleep.  We talked to her doctor about it because we were concerned about what this would do to her teeth (she'd fall asleep right after drinking the milk, so they wouldn't get brushed again until the morning).  We explained to the doctor that sometimes we would even put cream in her milk to make it more yummy, fattening, and have more calories.  We wondered if we should stop giving the milk at bedtime to save her teeth.  The doctor left the decision to us but suggested that we continue with the milk because she needed to grow so badly.  She suggested that we could always get her teeth fixed and/or replaced in the future, but the growing had to be done now.  So we kept giving her the milk at bedtime.  Once we started the growth hormones, Zoe got an appetite during the day so we haven't done the milk in a couple of years.  But now her teeth are paying for it.  We have a really great pediatric dentist and he is helping us work through this and prioritize what needs to be taken care of.

Anyways, Zoe went under anesthesia for all the procedures and handled the whole thing like a champ.
Here is Zoe sleeping off the medicine once we got home.  She slept for a LONG time.

Feeling a lot more awake.  She is opening presents that some of Mike's staff (Michelle and Keelie) gave her.  They are so nice!

I got lots of snuggles that day.  :)
