A Week Down South

Before we had Zoe, Mike and I used to think it was so weird when wives would take their kids on vacation without their husband...and the husband would be left to stay at home and work. The poor husband! Well, guess what I did last week? I took Zoe on a trip and left Mike at home...alone...to work. It was really sad but we still had a great time. :) What started the whole trip was that I had a little reunion with some of my friends from high school: Kellye, Lisa, and Stephanie. We had such a great time catching up and letting our kids play together. Thanks again Kellye for hosting us! I took these two pictures of Zoe at the beginning of the visit and then totally forgot about my camera. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of us girls together. Argh.

Zoe and I got to stay with Lynn and Serge while we were down in The Woodlands. It was nice and relaxing and Zoe had a great time playing the piano with Lynn.

While we were down there we went and visited Grandma Key (Mike's Grandma) in her new nursing home. Zoe LOVED it there. Below is a picture of her roaming the halls. There were a lot of animals there (birds, rabbits, dogs, fish) and Zoe went crazy for them. She also kept wanting to play with all the wheel chairs. :) I think she thought they were really decked out strollers. It was so great to get to see Grandma Key and I think she was pretty excited to see baby 'Joey' too (both G-Key and Zoe's cousin Emma call her baby Joey).

During the trip we also got to visit Adam and Jen. Zoe loves their little dog and they pretty much chased each other around the whole time. It was a lot of fun....and Jen is an awesome cook so that's a bonus!

We finished the trip up by visiting my mom, Eddy, and AJ in Cameron for a couple of days. Below is a picture of Zoe feeding her new baby doll that my mom got her. She kept taking breaks from playing with toys to go feed the baby. It was so cute.

It was a really great week and we had a blast seeing everybody. We really missed Mike a lot though so we were ready to go home by the end of the week.

  1. Hey, you should have just swung on by my place on the way. It's only a few states away...

  3. I really, really cannot believe we didn't get one pic together! We must make that a MUST every year. No matter how crazy it is. So enjoyed seeing you. I will be back down for Thanksgiving holidays. Can't remember, did you say you would be back?
