Zoe is becoming such a big girl! It's absolutely amazing to see all the new things she does on a daily basis. For example, I have some flash cards up on Zoe's door and on the wall outside of her room. Throughout the day, as we are passing by the cards, I'll point to each one and say the word on it. Like with everything else, Zoe copies me by pointing to the card and saying the word herself. But I've never tested her knowledge of them by pointing to a word and asking her to tell me what it is. I figured that I would find out soon enough if she knows them or not. Well, one of the flashcards fell down the other day and Zoe ran into the hall, picked it up, and yelled "head!". Sure enough, the 'head' flashcard was the one that had fallen. Wow! So I guess it's working. Then today we were at story time at the library and Zoe pointed to a girl and said "love". I looked over and the girl had a shirt on that said "love" across the front. Wow again! I guess I'll continue with the flashcard thing...
And speaking of becoming a big girl, Zoe can now reach all the doorknobs around the
apartment! She hasn't figured out how to open them yet but man, I guess we didn't think this day would come for a while. I'm glad it's happening! Her pants are getting shorter and she can reach the door handles.
Yay!
Zoe also has discovered the joy of throwing things away. Along with reaching the doorknobs, she can also reach over the kitchen trash can. So far (we think) she has only thrown away trash and it's pretty helpful! She loves to do it so Zoe is now our official trash woman.
I have lots of pictures and videos to post.....they are all uploading right now. So be on the look out for some more Zoe cuteness!!!
That is so exciting. I love being able to see her grow!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's amazing. I love have a little guy to throw the trash away, get my water bottle, keys, etc... They love to help at this age...may as well soak it up! :)
ReplyDeleteI also love to watch my kids grow up. It is so rewarding as a parent. My girls went trough the trash stage. My mom bought me silverware for Christmas because Payton kept throwing away her silverware. We were down to only a couple spoons. Fun times.
ReplyDeleteYay Zoe! Such a cute picture of her. Can't wait to see more!
